SLICED BEAUTY

NOVEMBER 9, 2025 // BERLIN

MARIA VOLOKHOVA

decoration or provocation?
beautiful or repulsive?
confrontational or uncomfortable ?

With pleasure and excitement we invite you to our next Experience Dinner Salon with Ukrainian artist Maria Volokhova, where you get the unique opportunity to actually eat from works of art.

Despite a rich heritage in porcelain manufacturing spanning over three centuries, contemporary porcelain art in Germany remains relatively thinly spread compared to its historical prominence. Maria Volokhova's porcelain art stages a true and fascinating experience. By uncovering internal and external landscapes of human and non-human bodies, she challenges  our ideas of art and design, inside and outside, beautiful, monstrous and beastly. Join us in devouring her newest project 'Sliced Beauty', where we will eat our way to discover the deeper layers of the human body.

Bite into this experience !

And the dinner ?

Again, I challenge myself with my culinary and food design skills. Of course, what we will eat has to be most delicious, and also ignite a new form of experience. It can't compete with the artist's work, but merely illuminates the thoughts behind the process. While conceptualizing this dinner, I can promise: it will be delicious, created of organic, high quality produce reflecting the season and is accompanied by fine wine.

DON'T THINK I WILL SERVE LIVER, HEARTS AND KIDNEYS – that'd be too easy and note this that there will be plenty of vegan and vegetarian options.
